If you’re ready for some spring cleaning you might want to start with the things that offer a big impact first.

These must-do natural spring cleaning tips will give your home that spring-cleaned feeling.  Remember when cleaning your home, natural ingredients are always best. So, open your windows and letting the season flood its way into your home!

Wipe Switches and Door Knobs – Use a damp cloth with a drop of soap or rubbing alcohol to wipe away any dirt or grime.

If you have time, give your doors a quick wipe at the same time. There’s nothing like getting rid of the dingy grey dirt marks on door jams and light switches!

Dust Light Fixtures and Fans – After a season with the furnace running, your light fixtures and fans most likely have a coating of dust. Use a long-handled duster and run it over fixtures and fans, trapping the dust. Shake the duster outside frequently and work your way through your home.

Wash Floors and Baseboards – Clean baseboards and floors are a great way to kick off your spring cleaning!

Start by wiping down baseboards with a soft cloth and solution of warm water and a teaspoon or two of castile or dish soap. Once your baseboards are clean, wash any hard surface floors thoroughly. A good hands-and-knees scrub as the season begins makes the house feel fresh and ready for open doors and gatherings of friends and neighbors.

Deep Clean Carpets – Now that your baseboards are clean and your floors are shining, it’s time to deep clean any carpeted floors.

This is one of those jobs that you can hire out or you can do it yourself with a rented machine or by purchasing one. If you decide to clean your carpets yourself, you can freshen them up by using a mixture of equal parts warm water and white vinegar. This solution will clean and freshen simultaneously without leaving any residue behind.

Wash Windows – My #1 must-do for spring cleaning?

Washing windows! Clean windows signal that spring is here and that they are ready to open and let that spring light flood in. Smell that fresh spring air now! Mix up this solution and wash the windows with a squeegee followed up by a soft microfiber cloth.
